I remember when Robin Hood came out and it all looked cool in comic and magazine advertising with the two foxes but when I finally saw it it was awful. If this isn't the worst animated Disney then it's certainly in the top 5.

I really don't know why everyone dislikes this movie - I adore it. Always have.

I really don't know why everyone dislikes this movie - I adore it. Always have. It has the poorest animation of any Disney and the voice artists are pretty terrible at delivering the dialogue too. In fact the whole thing feels as if it was contracted out to a third party and didn't go through Disney quality control. The comic book adaptations of the film are actually superior to the movie itself and that rarely happens. If you compare Robin Hood to something like The Jungle Book and see how flat it is then you'd pretty much think you were watching a very cheap Hanna Barbara clone.

It has the poorest animation of any Disney I love this movie's animation. It really reminds me of The Sword in the Stone and the Winnie the Pooh shorts. Yes, shorts. I know they really didn't do animated television programs back in the 60's. But, still, I love Disney and the rustic animation look. I really do. the voice artists are pretty terrible at delivering the dialogue too. I disagree, but I know what you mean. The movie that really drove me nuts in terms of the voice actors was The Fox and the Hound. Amos and the Widow were fine, but everyone else rubbed me the wrong way. Especially both the child versions of Todd and Copper and the adult versions, and Vixey. And I thought they were pushing it by hiring Piglet to do the voice of the kindly porcupine. I know how Republican (tight-assed and judgmental over small details) some people can get about animation, but I'm the very opposite. I think every Disney animated film had at the very least: adequate animation. But I liked watching every one of them in terms of the animation, point being. Story is most important to me. And did I like the characters and why. Did I find it amusing. And I've just always really liked this movie. In fact, it's probably in my top 12 favorite animated Disney movies. EDIT: (That Republican mention was nothing more than an analogy to the kind of feelings people have about animation... wait, that is totally obvious, isn't it? I thought it was a good correlation since I know an unfortunate amount of Republican Disney fans, either way I know that doesn't mean you are one and personal political beliefs have nothing to do with this discussion whatsoever)

S'alright. I have no political beliefs whatsoever although I think Plato was right.
Yeah, the Fox and the Hound... it tried to be Bambi in the beginning and then went rapidly downhill. I sort of liked it but the voices threw me out of the movie several times. It's not that I'm a big Disney fan at all but like most people I've seen nearly all of them either accidentally or on purpose (when I was the age that I should have been to see them).
I prefer Watership Down to any of them though.

Never caught the infamous Watership Down. I hear it's a mite bit intense.

I remember seeing Recess: School's Out in the theater. I liked it, but I was mad because they used the artificial CGI animation rather than the classic animation the show used.
