So, the only thing you're going to take away from this song unless you're a fan of this band is "HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO MEEEEEEEEEE?!!" But, as you can plainly see... not so much is happening to this guy as the girl behind the wheel of the other car. Does she die at the end? Did he hit her? Will anyone care? Nope. So, as you can also tell, the slightly more interesting story is: what the fuck is this song really about? Because it sure as hell isn't about a car accident. Unless this guy's really sick and just brushes off killing another person with: "how could this happen to me?" Either way, this whole project is nothing but a pity party and, I don't know about you but, the only thing people hate more than being pitied themselves is when someone yells for attention- wanting the pity of others. As for the video, try to imagine putting The Verve Pipe's "The Freshman" and Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car"( *) together- only with more graphic visual representation of "violence" and "tragedy." The kid playing the video game really fucks up that vibe: "it was just a normal evening playing my X-Box when... it happened..." Yes, having Mom, Dad, and Sis getting bopped around like wrestlers on the WWE is a real tearful sight. And... OOH! How Dramatic: Rain! Rain always bums people out. Who falls for this shit? ( *: yes, I merely assumed "Fast Car" had something to do with reckless driving and that most people regarded the song as lame.)
